Antal Örkényi:
KŐEGÉR installation
project plan

In realising our vision of the future, we always have the possibility to employ only the means at our disposal. KŐEGÉR is an homage to the old masters who did their work in previous centuries so that we could attain the current condition of technical development. Our past is our future.
The installation put into operation can be used as a computer. We see the monitor projected. We can move the cursor by turning the large, two-ton stone sphere. With the aid of the six-metre-long reinforced concrete lever – by the weight of the requisite number of participants – the lifted stone ball serves the purpose of pressing a mouse-button. With the lifting of the small balls, we can activate each key.
All of this requires physical strength and a great deal of time, as well as the synchronised and persevering work of many people together.
