Controlmechanisms in the City (TROIA)
presentation of Olaf Arndt

May 7, Sunday, 6 pm
Gödör Klub, Budapest
V. Erzsébet Square
in the Cocobello building

The purpose of TROIA is to focus public awareness and discussion on the technologies of political control within the context of a fast developing Europe. It takes the most recent reports of the Manchester based Omega Foundation as its starting point. From this TROIA develops into a futuristic stage, a huge transportable building that will appear in the public forum and engage the public in ways expected and unexpected. The architectural structure is a travelling citizens forum, a hybrid info-box with a spectacular presence. TROIA is initiated by the BBM group, realised through the financial assistance of the European Commission’s „Culture 2000“ program.

a retrospective screening of
IVAN LADISLAV GALETA

The film will be introduced by the author, Ivan Ladislav Galeta.

"The eye is the first circle; the horizon which it forms is the second; and throughout nature this primary figure is repeated without end. It is the highest emblem in the cipher of the world. St. Augustine described the nature of God as a circle whose centre was everywhere, and its circumference nowhere. (...)"
