C3 turns 10!

C3 Center for Culture and Communication opened in the Castle-area in Budapest on 26 June 1996, as a result of a cooperative effort between the Soros Foundation Hungary, Silicon Graphics Hungary and MATÁV, the Hungarian Telecom.

Started as a three-year pilot project in the framework of the Soros Foundation Hungary, it has continued to operate as an independent NGO from the end of 1999. Almost since a year, under different circumstances it has pursued its activities with the same optimism and commitment towards its aims in a new location in the
2nd district of Budapest.
