C3 Center for Culture & Communication
Budapest, 1014 Országház utca 9.

Ute Ströer studied Media Art and Monumental Art at the Academy of Art & Deign in Enschede in The Netherlands (1998-2002), and is currently studying Experimental Film with Birgit Hein at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig in Germany. She currently lives and works in Berlin.

With her diploma film from Enschede, she won the TENT.Centre for Visual Arts Rotterdam video “Academy Award” for students in The Netherlands. Her prize was the possibility to produce a new work within a one-month residency at C3.

Ute will show the video work with which she won the award, Aspergo (2002, 8’), as well as her new work, (working title: Sugarmoon, 2003, approx. 9’), which she has been working on here during the month of April.
