The advertising-hyenas live on future-waste. Already in the present, they pluck off their own drumstick from the future-spoils thrown appetisingly. (During their devouring, they even forget their accustomed indifference, and we can often hear that they get entangled in wild scuffles with each other, snarling, howling and shrieking over the bones.) As opposed to the common spotted hyena, they strive not for the obliteration of trash, but for its effective propagation. (In the course of their thus anticipated engorgement of the future, they set out for the depravation of those future-segments which the advertising-hyenas have not yet set eyes upon.)

They are capable of furthering the emergence of waste-future in a thousand different ways. Their store of means seems just as inexhaustible as the thrust of the keel that drives & repels them ever onward. And thus, the hunting ground of the advertising-hyenas is truly endless: their sphere of activity becomes ever wider and, beyond a certain point, sooner or later inevitably coincides with the navigable entirety.

They approach their plunder rather purposefully. Alongside the scientific orientation of their more advanced procedures, neither do they consider their traditional methods of enchantment and witchery contemptible. The advertising-hyenas first and foremost seek beliefs. They bore their eyes and noses relentlessly into the winds blowing from their desires, localising the site of release in the wake of the arrival of the trace elements of their desire-secretions, then executing psychological, environmental and soil research tests on their subject sample. Following the assessment of the potential circle of those that can be oriented, they commence constructing castles in the air that lend themselves best to influencing the given population. With their alluring, Trojan-type illusions, they infiltrate the slightest time-fissure, and adapt themselves to any interface. The disintegration of settlements and regions begins with the erection of metal structures, and continues with the placement of visual humus. The clouds of fire-worms hatched in such humus then are cast into the eyes of those advancing there, and there they produce a malady of longing.

The advertising-hyenas readily break into unconscious regions, placing selected desire-stimulants – and laying handsomely camouflaged traps at every step. (They hire more or less bare, fresh bodies as bait.) They like best unsuspecting, tender flesh; thus, they cast their nets with great appetite over children. (They convince them that their shadows are, in fact, disguised sorcerers, who, assuming human form, roam the display screens, capable of implementing the most impossible ideas.)

Since the advertising-hyenas are the most efficient toll-collectors of credulousness, it goes without saying that they themselves believe in nothing at all.

The secret of their efficacy is uncharted. In some cases, i.e., it is enough if the shadow of the advertising-hyena is cast onto humanoids, who are capable, in just the twinkling of an eye, of losing their heads, and begin to scurry helter-skelter after catchwords. It is mainly the call of the Siren-hyena that has a similar effect on humanoids, which, contrary to the stridently shrill voice of the cross-striped hyena, is velvety and engaging.

With a lack of natural adversaries, until now, only the Rainbow Warriors Coalition has thrown any obstacle in the way of their further expansion, whereas the advertising-hyenas have already set their sights on the entire world.
