SOLID PRICING AND LICENSING

Below are the prices for our SOLID Server and SOLID Web Engine products. To use SOLID JDBC Driver, you need a SOLID license with the JDBC extension. The SOLID Light Client package is provided free of charge, and using it does not require any license extensions.

Product: SOLID Server

SOLID Desktop is a single-user database license allowing client connections only from the same computer. SOLID Desktop only allows the use of the UNIX Pipes/Shared Memory communication protocols, depending on the operating system used. A free Linux version of this license is also available. You cannot use JDBC with SOLID Desktop as JDBC requires the use of TCP/IP.

SOLID Desktop, 99 USD per copy

SOLID Server is a multi-user license with pricing based on the number of users. Users of SOLID Desktop and SOLID Server must connect directly to the database. The license price is the same for all platforms. The standard SOLID Server license does not allow the use of the SOLID JDBC Driver - if you want to use this feature with SOLID Server, please contact us at sales@solidtech.com.

SOLID Server, 199 USD per user

Product: SOLID Web Engine

The SOLID Web Engine license lets one web server program (web site) access the SOLID database from one computer. Your web server may then serve any number of browser users and this does not affect the price of the SOLID Web Engine license. Non-web users (i.e., non-browser users) need additional per seat licenses to SOLID Web Engine.Client software and middleware are available at no extra charge.

To use SOLID JDBC Driver, you need a SOLID license with the JDBC extension. The prices for a SOLID Web Engine with JDBC Extension license are as follows:

Examples

Example 1.

You have two users who connect to the database and sometimes at the same time. You need SOLID Server for 2 users. The price for this license is 2 x 199 USD = 398 USD.

Example 2.

You want to use the database as your web site backend. You need a SOLID Web Engine license. SOLID Web Engine will run on the same computer as your web server. The price depends on the platform you are using.

Example 3.

You want to use the database as your web site backend. You also need two connections from non-browser users (e.g., an application that is build with VB).You need a SOLID Web Engine license with two additional users. 2 x 199 USD is added to the price of SOLID Web Engine (platform dependend). The total price is SOLID Web Engine + 398 USD.

Example 4.

You use SOLID Server on two plaforms: Novell and Linux. You need two SOLID Server licenses, one for Novell and one for Linux.
