SOLID Light Client

SOLID Light Client is a very small footprint database client library specially designed for implementing embedded solutions with limited memory resources. Client/server systems can be built using standard SQL, allowing lightweight client applications to utilize the full power of SOLID Server.

The SOLID Light Client library is a 21-function subset of the ODBC API providing full SQL capabilities for application developers. SOLID Light Client is perfectly suited for target environments with a small amount of memory. Currenly SOLID Light Client is available for DOS, VxWorks and Geos, the development environment being WindowsNT and Windows95.

Getting Started

To start developing applications with SOLID Light Client you need to:

  1. Download the SOLID Light Client package for your environment(s):
    SOLID Light Client for DOS, 60 kB
    SOLID Light Client for 32-bit Windows, 66 kB
    Contact Solid to request Light Client packages in the BETA phase.
  2. Download and install the required SOLID Server release 02.20.0027 or newer for any of the available server platforms.
  3. Set up your development environment for SOLID Light Client.

The Light Client library is provided free of charge, and using it does not require any license extensions. Normal SOLID Server run-time licenses may be purchased through SOLID Express Sales.
