THE TEXT OF TRACTATUS

1.

No cry of torment can be greater than the cry of one man.
Or again, no torment can be greather than what a single human being may 
suffer.
A man is capable of infinite torment therefore, and so too he can stand in need 
of infinite help.
Wie schwer fällt mir zu sehen, was vor meinen Augen liegt!

2.

Der Gegenstand ist einfach.
Only a very unhappy man has the right to pity someone else.

Was denkbar ist, ist auch möglich.
(I) just took some apples out of a paper bag where they had been lying for a 
long time. I had to cut half off many of them and throw it away. Afterwards, 
when I was copying out a sentence I had written, the second half of which 
was bad,I at once saw it as a half-rotten apple. And that's how it always is 
with me. Everything that comes my way becomes a picture for me of what I 
am thinking about at the time. (Is there something feminine about this way of 
thinking?)

To, Čo možno ukážat', nemožno povedat'.
The light work sheds is a beautiful light, which, however, only shines with 
real beauty if it is illuminated by yet another light.
Cuando llevas una ofrenda y te envaneces por ello, te condenas junto con tu 
ofrenda.

Mundo y vida son una sola cosa.
Ich bin meine Welt. (A mikrokozmosz.)
Alles, was wir sehen, könnte auch anders sein.
Alles, was wir überhaupt beschreiben können, könnte auch anders sein.

That the sun will rise to-morrow, is an hypothesis;
Svet je nezžvislý od mojej vôle.
Not how the world is, is the mystical,...
Egy olyan felelethez, amelyet nem lehet kimondani,
nem lehet kimondani a kérdést sem.
Nazo wa sonzai shinai.
If a question can be put at all, then it can also be answered.
Wenn sich eine Frage überhaupt stellen läßt, so kann sie auch beantwortet 
werden.
There is indeed the inexpressible. This shows itself; it is the mystical.
