The Jazz Apples is a somewhat new formation satisfying a somewhat old need: to offer English-speaking jazz entertainment for the English-speaking community in Budapest - and for everyone else who appreciates it. Singer Gabor Bihari has been planning on doing this for quite a while, ever since he moved to Budapest from his home city of Los Angeles, where he partly grew up. But when he met bass player Péter Román (Laux Band) and drummer János Weszely (Budapest Ragtime Band), it all just started to happen.

The Jazz Apples will feature a careful selection of your favorite classic jazz tunes, including Cole Porter's music and a blend of modern jazz and pop-rock interpretations with some twists and surprises.

THE JAZZ APPLES are:

GÁBOR BIHARI - vocals

'The King of Bass' PÉTER ROMÁN - bass

A true musician and a true character. But to mention only what's available on him publicly, it should be noted that he's been playing with many well-known musicians, and he still plays with legendary drummer József Laux (Omega, LGT), who established the Laux Band upon his resettlement from Los Angeles to Budapest. So what about Péter's character? Just wait till you see him live with The Jazz Apples!

JÁNOS WESZELY - drums

Music for János is more than just a profession. It's also a never-ending source of enjoyment ... as it should be. So besides the Budapest Ragtime Band, where he's been playing for quite a while now, he also likes to experiment with new formations. Like The Jazz Apples.

PREVIOUS MEMBERS & GUESTS:

REZSŐ LUDVIG - piano, keyboards

Having traveled the world playing in various "Apples" bands, he became so attached to this name that he had to continue on with the tradition in Budapest. But he is also known from being the keyboard player of the popular 90's band called Siesta (more info here).
