István Nádler
Born in 1938. Between 1958 and 1963 studied at the College of Fine Art under Gyula Hincz. Traveled in Europe in the 1970s, working in artists colonies abroad. Between 1975 and 1979 was member of the Budapest Workshop; was awarded Munkácsy Prize in 1986, and Distinguished Artist medal in 1997. Received the jury’s special prize at the XIVth International Painting Festival, and 1st prize at the 4th European Graphical Biennial in Baden-Baden. Had numerous individual shows. Most important group exhibitions: the 1968 IPARTERV exhibition, the Károlyi Foundation’s exhibition in France in 1970, and the Hungarian Artists’ Exhibition in Poland.
