POETRY IN MOTION I AND II
Modern Poets Perform and Discuss Their Work
When Ron Mann’s superb film of contemporary poets in action, Poetry in Motion, came to CD-ROM, it created a whole new genre: the dramatic pairing of written text and video performance. Here was a new way to experience poetry: viewers could read a poem, watchit being performed by the author, or just sit back and let the words wash over them. The only problem with Mann’s film was that there was much too much footage to fin on one disc. Poetry in Motion II brings twenty-four more stirring perfomances to light. Some poets are familiar from the first volume, including Amiri Baraka, Charles Bukowski, Jim Carroll, Allen Ginsberg, John Giorno, Michael Ondaatje, gary Snyder, and Anne Waldman. For others, including Spalding Gray, Bob Holman, and Cookie Mueller, this is a CD-ROM premiere. AMERICAN POETRY

American Poetry also contains six hours of audio excerpts from live reading, indexes of the poets, of titles and first lines, and of all audio material, newly researched biographical notes, and a chronology of poetry in the nineteenth century.
