The next workshop from the series on interdisciplinary approaches in contemporary art focuses on working with acoustic and electronic sound, experiments with sound objects, movement and light on the stage. Workshop is open for all who are interested in theatre, visual arts, digital media, music, for art students, composers, etc.

Saturday, May 24
12 – 4 p.m.
Megan Roberts & Raymong Ghirardo, Dan Senn (USA) presentations, expositions, discussion:
1.Megan Roberts is a composer and media artist. Raymond Ghirardo is a sculptor and media artist. Their work exploits the use of sound, sculpture, animation, video projection, and digital technology. Thematically their work deals with archeology, projected histories, human volition, imaginary landscape and issues of landscape representation.
Works often incorporate diverse technical elements: video projection within and upon objects, movement triggered sound and image, interactive mechanical constructions, sound spatialization and transduction and digital animation. They have participated in numerous international exhibitions and festivals.

12 – 1.30p.m. Megan Roberts (+1952, Hempstead, New York) received her M.F.A. in Electronic Music and Video from Mills College Center for Contemporary Music. She is currently Associate Professor at Ithaca College teaching electronic media production. Raymond Ghirardo (+1953, Oakland, California) received his M.F.A. in sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art an is currently Associate Professor at Ithaca College teaching sculpture and digital arts.

2. Dan Senn /USA
2 - 4 p.m.

Dan Senn is an interdisciplinary artist working in acoustic and computer music, sound sculpture, dance, computer assisted-composition, texts, and performance art. He has a doctorate in Music Composition from the University of Illinois where his principal instructors were Salvatore Martirano, Ben Johnston and Herbert Brün. In parallel with his music studies, he has trained in the visual arts with a concentration on raku pottery, an aleatoric ceramic method associated with Zen and the Japanese tea ceremony.He is intensely involved in ephermeral public art projects which bring experimental work to alternative audiences.
