Vilém Flusser Archive

The archive contains more than 2,000 publications: books, printer’s proofs, anthologies, newspapers, journals and catalogues. The archive also contains Vilém Flusser’s lectures in Portuguese and French, interviews, discussions, audio-video recordings and speeches in four languages.
There are files according to language, in alphabetical order, containing manuscripts of essays, published and unpublished, originals or carbon copies, with keywords (up to eight).
There is correspondence with artists, students, friends, publishers, regarding symposia.
Each document has a document number in the computer database.
There is a subject catalogue.
There are reviews before and after 1991 (obituaries).
The archive also comprises the remains of the former library, including rare Brasilian books with dedications, and special prints. There is text and audio-video material from various sources.
There is correspondence from after 1991, following the establishment of the archive.
Miguel, our son, compiled the archive in order to maintain the work.
The archive will be transferred to Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM) Karlsruhe.
"Commemorating the influence Vilém Flusser had on the work of the ZKM, and his support and impact on this institution, ZKM, from the end of 1997, will house the archive for scientific purposes – those of the ZKM, as well as those of the general public."
I trust in many readers to be stimulated and pleased by the work of my deceased husband, that his thoughts will survive and his remembrance will be a blessing.

Mrs. Edith Flusser
