Not only did philosopher Vilém Flusser (1920-1991) write numerous excellent essays about chess, as well as quotation marks; he became famous as a media theoretician.
The first Hungarian translation of his work was the Philosophy of the Photograph in 1990. Although Flusser was born in Prague and, after his emigration, lived in Brazil, then in France, most of his works were written in his mother tongue, German.
The Bed is a small compilation of his essays.
His book about writing is a unique analysis of the complete field of written literature -- from descriptions through desks to signatures, and so on. This work of his is a monumental answer to the growing challenge of electronic media.
The book will be published in Hungarian in March 1997.

The first publisher of Vilém Flusser's work was the Bollmann Publisher House
